As described in a separate article, Chenies & Latimer embarked upon Saturday league cricket in 1992. The attached document provides the detail including key performances and scores for every league match played by the 1st XI in the 29 seasons since,
Overall, 563 matches have been scheduled. 39 have been cancelled and a further 31 were started, but abandoned. The positive news is that we have won more matches than we’ve lost; of the 493 matches completed, Chenies have won 203 (41.2%), lost 180 (36.5%) and drawn 108 (21.9%). Two matches have been tied.
Our win percentage is the same, whether home or away, but at Chenies we have lost fewer matches than on our travels, with draws being more prevalent at home than away – evidence of the quality batting surface at Chenies versus the grounds we have visited over the years.
Over the years we have faced 73 opposition clubs, the most common being Wooburn Narkovians (25 matches), Chalfont St Peter (20) and Teddington Town (20). We have done well against Wooburn and Teddington with win percentages of 50% and 47 % respectively, but have struggled over the years against St Peter with a win percentage of only 23.5%.
