Season Summary - U11 Lions

Summary of the U11 Lions' season by coach Kiran Vadlamani

This season, our U11 Lions team has performed exceptionally. After narrowly missing the county championship last year, the team returned with renewed determination, benefiting from hard work during winter nets. Their dedication and outstanding teamwork not only helped achieve their goals but also set new standards in fielding, batting, bowling, and teamwork.

The season started with typical British summer weather, leading to some postponed matches. However, the team maintained focus and, once those matches were played, quickly found their rhythm, showcasing resilience and determination.

We welcomed Eashan, Grav, Shreyank, Maxwell, Dhani, Lohan, and Daniel to the team. The goal for the U11 season is to provide every player with increased game exposure.

The season kicked off with an away game against Chalfont, which we won comfortably by 92 runs, followed by a massive victory over High Wycombe by 213 runs. The highlight of the season was the home game against Chesham, a low-scoring match. We chose to bat first on a beautiful summer evening, and while the opening pair started cautiously against Chesham's strong bowlers, Charlie's three sixes helped us reach 68 runs in 20 overs. Despite the challenging pitch, we batted well, and Captain's strategic introduction of leg spinner Dhiren caught our opponents off guard. Teja's two stunning catches and a direct hit gave us a strong advantage. Our bowlers, Dhiren, Aran, Eshan, Aayan, Ethan, Kiyaan, and Charlie, kept Chesham's run rate under control, restricting them to 53 runs.

In the fourth match, we defeated Ballinger by 89 runs, followed by a win over Amersham by 134 runs, GX by 155 runs, and Wendover by 132 runs. We also secured victories against Penn & Tyler by 78 runs and Beaconsfield by 79 runs. Finishing the season with nine wins out of nine matches, the U11 Lions are the Champions of the Bucks East division. Congratulations to everyone, and let’s continue striving for new heights! Another successful season for Lions..keep roaring
