Lords Taverners Kit Recycling

Lords Taverners Kit Recycling

Dave Brown24 Oct - 16:24

Unused kit donated to help disadvantaged communities

Under the stewardship of John Campbell, Chenies & Latimer is the South Bucks main collection hub for the Lords Taverners Cricket Kit Recycling programme. The below picture shows the 8 bags of kit which was recently forwarded to the the main collection centre in Ipswich.

In addition to donations from within the club we also received kit from a number of
local clubs including High Wycombe, Beaconsfield and Kings Langley.

For those not familiar with Lords Taverners, it was formed some 70 years ago with
the intention to create opportunities for young people to play cricket.
The kit recycling programme is providing access to the sport for young people in the
UK and abroad who would otherwise not be able to participate due to a lack of the
right cricket kit and equipment.
Lords Taverners collect usable cricket kit from across the UK through a network of
local collection hubs and the kit is then sorted and redistributed to partner
organisations, who can put it to great use in their communities worldwide.
The focus is on the provision of kit and equipment to clubs and schools to enable the
development of colts cricket, as well as a particular emphasis on girl’s cricket,
through the support of the Lady Taverners.
