Run by the cricket charity for Women and Girls, Take Her Lead, the Hundred Rookie competition launched on July 5, 2024, providing an incredible opportunity for aspiring cricketers to immerse themselves in the world of professional cricket. This initiative allows one lucky individual to closely observe a Women's Hundred squad during their training sessions, engage with the players, and gather invaluable tips and tricks to bring back to their club.

Shayna eagerly applied for this golden opportunity, choosing to submit a creative presentation due to her deep passion and inspiration for cricket. She knew that being selected would not only fuel her love for the game but also arm her with advanced coaching insights to benefit her club.

On July 29, Shayna received thrilling news: she had been selected as the London Spirit's Hundred Rookie for 2024. She is invited to join the London Spirit women's team at Lord's on Saturday, August 3rd.

Throughout the day, Shayna will shadow the team during their training session, witnessing first hand how they gear up for a major tournament. She will have the chance to quiz the players on their best training techniques, seek advice from the support staff and coaches, and soak in the professional atmosphere. Additionally, a video diary will document her journey, capturing her experiences and reflections from this unique cricketing adventure.
